Philadelphia, PA — In less then eight weeks since announcing his candidacy for U.S. Congress from Pennsylvania’s 2nd Congressional District, Rep. Dwight Evans raised over $330,000 from hundreds of donors.

“I’m extremely grateful to all those who’ve given to this campaign, and who have committed to being a part of this effort to build a better Philadelphia, block by block,” Dwight Evans said. “It’s time for the federal government to stop ignoring urban America and it’s unacceptable to allow permanent poverty in this county. We need to implement a new federal plan for our cities that includes all of our neighborhoods.”

Evans heads into the election year with $280,000 cash on hand. The strong fundraising quarter allows the Evans campaign to continue building a grassroots campaign promoting his vision of a stronger urban America. Evans will not be running for re-election in house district.

The primary election date is Tuesday, April 26th.
