Philadelphia, PA – Former Mayors Ed Rendell, John Street and Michael Nutter endorse Congressman Dwight Evans for Re-election to Congress.
“Dwight Evans accomplished in Harrisburg, by his strong leadership, more than anyone believed possible. In a short time in the US Congress, he is doing the same,” said former Mayor Ed Rendell. “He’s smart, resourceful and knows how to work across the aisle to get things done. He’s a great asset for our city and our state.”
“Philadelphia’s solutions to issues of poverty, affordable housing, criminal justice reform take unrelenting drive to solve them and Congressman Dwight Evans shows this with his actions as our representative in Washington,” said former Mayor John Street. “I’m supporting Congressman Evans for re-election because he has a proven track record and he recognizes that our neighborhoods are the economic engine to our success as a city”
“He will be our champion and fight for us at every turn in Congress,” Former Mayor John Street said.
“Our region can only move forward when our elected officials work together and Congressman Dwight Evans has always shown that type of vision,” said former Mayor Michael Nutter. “In these uncertain times we need proven leadership in Washington D.C. and that’s why I’m supporting Congressman Evans for re-election on May 15th.”
“I’m truly humbled to have the endorsement of former mayors Ed Rendell, John Street and Michael Nutter,” said Congressman Dwight Evans. “Only with all levels of government working together can we move this city that we love forward and provide better days for its citizens.”
These former mayors join Governors Tom Wolf, Mayor Jim Kenney, PA AFL-CI0, Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades, SEIU, Planned Parenthood, Clean Water Action, National Organization of Women, Liberty City Democrats, HRC and many others in endorsing Congressman Dwight Evans for re-election.
